JF's archivist has a very important task. JF has existed since 1884 and will hopefully continue to exist forever. It is therefore important to archive in good order what happens within the association.

The archivist's important position is manifested by the fact that he or she has a place on JF's senior board and writes a column – "The Archivist Speaks" – in the association's newspaper Dissidenten.
