JURO
JURO - National Law Students' Organization
JURO was established on 2 October 1993 and is a national cooperation organization that brings together representatives from the various Law Associations (hereinafter referred to as JF) from the universities where law degrees are awarded. The organization's area of activity is student union and educational policy issues that affect Sweden's law students.
The board is the organization's decision-making and executive body, which within the framework of its statutes shall work for the organization's development and safeguarding the interests of the member locations. The board consists of a chairman, vice chairman and two members from each JF, thus the board consists of fourteen members in addition to the chairman and vice chairman. The members are distributed between JF and the study monitoring bodies at the study locations, if these are independent of each other.
All members shall compile a local report prior to each meeting that addresses the educational issues that are deemed to be of relevance. The local report creates a basis for discussion and enables a platform for the dissemination of information, exchange of experiences and help and support between the different member locations. Meetings shall take place at least four times per year and should be held in the following order: Umeå, Lund or Örebro, Uppsala, Stockholm or Gothenburg.
During the autumn of 2019, JURO acted as a reference body for the Swedish Courts Administration's investigation into A reformed notary admission. The full response to the reference is available on JURO's website www.juro.se.
