BECOME A MEMBER
Membership in the Legal Association is required to take part in our activities, such as the novice period. To become a member of the Legal Association, you must join Studentlund, which is a collaboration between Lund's student unions, nations and the Academic Association. Membership in Studentlund automatically gives you membership in the Legal Association, any nation and the Academic Association, all in one. To be able to fully participate in the novice period and take part in Lund's student life, you must be a member of Studentlund. You can read more about Studentlund here. It is a good idea to become a member before the novice period starts. Follow the instructions below to become a member today!
Step 1
Become a member of Studentlund
Start by going to Studentlund's website. Click on the symbol "Become a member". Click on the fact that you are admitted HT/VTXX if you are a new student at Lund University and then "No, I am not already a member".
Step 4
Print the proof or get the student card on your smartphone
Congratulations! You are now a member of the Legal Association and Studentlund. At several events you will need to show your student ID in order to participate. Remember to print out proof that you have paid (sent to your email and available on your page), as the app may be overloaded during the beginning of the novice period. You should also download the Student Card app (“Student Card”/STUK) and log in there. There you will receive your student card digitally within a couple of hours if you have paid by debit card. Please note that during registration times it can take up to 24 hours for the registration to go through. Keep in mind that when using your student ID, you must always be able to show regular identification to prove that the student ID is yours.
Step 2
Upload your acceptance letter
Upload your admission letter in PDF format. It is not possible to upload a print screen. Alternatively, become a member by entering your admission code for the law program. Your personal ID number, national registration address and contact information will be linked directly. Check that everything is correct.
Step 5
Select nation
Once you are in Lund, you must personally visit the nation you want to become a member of. The nations' enrollment period runs for approximately 4 weeks. Please note that you must choose a nation during this time in order to have a valid student card after this period. Only after the visit to the nation will your "physical" student card be sent by post to your registered address. This can take up to two weeks. Step 3
Automatic connection to the Union
Through your admission letter, you should have automatically been connected to your correct union, the Swedish Legal Association. Check that this is correct before you pay the membership fee. You can then pay your membership fee. It is best paid by credit card or Swish, as the processing time is significantly shorter than when paying via internet banking. Please note that payment via internet banking takes 2-3 banking days before it is registered. It is only when the payment has been registered that you have become a member and can print out your payment certificate or log in to the app.
Already a member and want to change corps?
Send your admission notice to vice@jf.se and we will help you switch to JF. Do this before you pay your Studentlund bill. If you are a member of JF but want to switch to another union, you should contact the union you want to switch to.
